Current Opportunities

Manager – Youth Services

 

We currently have an exciting opportunity for an individual to take on a Leadership Role as our Manager of Youth Services. Reporting to the Director of Children, Youth and Family Services, you will have responsibility for the oversight of the service delivery and staff in the Youth Services program area ensuring that administration, best practices, and outcomes, are in line with funder and organizational expectations.

 

This position requires a self motivated, highly organized individual with a combination of a degree/diploma in a related discipline along with 3 – 5 years experience working with at risk youth and in a managerial/supervisory capacity. They will have the demonstrated ability to work effectively with staff, youth, and community partners and to build collaborative relationships. The hours of work will require some evening and weekends.

Manager Youth Services

On Going Opportunities

We are interviewing for individuals to work on a relief basis in our various programs. Relief employees fill a vital role at Wesley Urban Ministries providing support and backup in our programs. Shifts are scheduled on an as needed basis and may include days, afternoons and nights along with weekends.  Our current needs include:

 

Registered Practical Nurses - to work at our Claremont House Special Care Unit. These individuals must be a graduate RPN and hold current RPN registration with the Ontario College of Nurses. Several years nursing experience, preferably in an urban core setting or in the addictions field would be an asset.

 

Early Childhood Educators - must have a diploma in Early Childhood Education and experience working in a child care setting.

 

Drop in Workers - must have diploma or post secondary education in the Human Services field and a track record of community involvement through volunteering and/or work experience.

 

Life Skills Mentors - We have an on-going need for individuals to work on an on-call as needed basis to deliver life skills programs and information with the objective of providing essential life skills to newcomers to help them settle and adapt more smoothly into their new community. 

 

Youth Mentors - must have a diploma or degree in Child & Youth Work or Social Services. Experience working with youth is essential as are proven skills in case management.

 

Candidates for all positions must also have current CPR/First Aid.
